Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2014 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Chivalric love by Frederick Richard Pickersgill. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,186.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Richard Pickersgill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Britomart unarming in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 82,345.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chivalric love von Frederick Richard Pickersgill zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.186,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Richard Pickersgill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Britomart unarming im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 82.345,01).
