Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Portrait of A Gentleman, Traditionally Identified As A Member of The Holden Family, Half-Length, Holding An Unframed Canvas And Quizzing Glass by Frederick Lee Bridell. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 576.00 (€ 840.77), 15% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Lee Bridell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wooded Landscape in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,938.00 (€ 5,259.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of A Gentleman, Traditionally Identified As A Member of The Holden Family, Half-Length, Holding An Unframed Canvas And Quizzing Glass von Frederick Lee Bridell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 576,00 (€ 840,77) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Lee Bridell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wooded Landscape im Januar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.938,00 (€ 5.259,52).
