This artwork by Frederick Landseer Maur Griggs achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2005. In the British Prints 1850-2004 auction, the work St. Mary's, Nottingham (C. 41iv) sold for GBP 660.00 (€ 974.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Landseer Maur Griggs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Almonry (C. 34v), which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,366.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederick Landseer Maur Griggs erzielte im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British Prints 1850-2004 wurde die Arbeit St. Mary's, Nottingham (C. 41iv) für GBP 660,00 (€ 974,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Landseer Maur Griggs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Almonry (C. 34v) beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für GBP 2.280,00 (€ 3.366,00) versteigert wurde.
