Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ragdale Hall (C. 45v) by Frederick Landseer Maur Griggs was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 180.00 (€ 265.74). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Landseer Maur Griggs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Almonry (C. 34v) in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,366.00).
