This artwork by Frederick Arthur Verner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2003. In the Exploration and Travel auction, the work Indian stalking a Deer sold for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 15,647.98) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frederick Arthur Verner; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Going To Market, Muskoka sold at auction in November 2012 with the realized price of CAD 27,000.00 (€ 20,896.46).
