Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Funeral of a Mummy on the Nile (a variant) by Frederick Arthur Bridgman was sold in the The European Art Sale Part I auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The price achieved of USD 56,700.00 (€ 50,570.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Arthur Bridgman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Cérémonie Des Aïssaoui À Blida En Algérie in June 2013 with an auction result of EUR 901,500.00.
