In the 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work French Resting sold for USD 74,500.00 (€ 56,251.89) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frédéric Soulacroix - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Afternoon Tea, which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 221,000.00 (€ 177,681.30).
