Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frédéric Soulacroix could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art auction, the work A Pause In The Music changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 17,309.82) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frédéric Soulacroix achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Afternoon Tea in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 221,000.00 (€ 177,681.30).
