This artwork by Frédéric Montenard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2005. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER auction, the work Goats On A Sunny Hill Side sold for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,747.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frédéric Montenard; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot La route côtière sold at auction in September 2001 with the realized price of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,414.82).
