It achieved a price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,103.43), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 53%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Xaver Winterhalter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Queen Olga of Württemberg, Grand Duchess of Russia in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 1,072,000.00 (€ 1,551,166.13).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Augusta, Princess of Prussia von Franz Xaver Winterhalter wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.103,43) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franz Xaver Winterhalter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Queen Olga of Württemberg, Grand Duchess of Russia im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.072.000,00 (€ 1.551.166,13).
