Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a Girl, head and shoulders, draped in a blue and white wrap by Franz Xaver Winterhalter for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,051.72). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Xaver Winterhalter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Queen Olga of Württemberg, Grand Duchess of Russia in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 1,072,000.00 (€ 1,551,166.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a Girl, head and shoulders, draped in a blue and white wrap von Franz Xaver Winterhalter für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.051,72) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franz Xaver Winterhalter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Queen Olga of Württemberg, Grand Duchess of Russia im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.072.000,00 (€ 1.551.166,13).
