A top price for Franz Windhager - as previously expected
In November 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures, which included the work Reclining Nude; Woman In Blue by Franz Windhager. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,603.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Reclining Nude; Woman In Blue is the most expensive artwork by Franz Windhager that we have observed at auctions so far.
