In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work Grapes On The Vine, Figs, Peaches, Roses And Morning Glory Resting On A Stone Ledge Before A Pool of Water by Franz Werner von Tamm. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,696.23), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Werner von Tamm - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two courting doves, a squirrel and a guinea-pig on a forest floor; and A hen and chicks in a landscape, which sold at auction in October 2004 for GBP 20,315.00 (€ 29,238.87).
