Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Austrian maidens On A Hill Overlooking Pompeii, Vesuvius Beyond by Franz Richard Unterberger was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2018. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,260.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Richard Unterberger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rio Tiorado, Venice in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 177,847.58).
