In April 2001 Christies in London held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work The toast by Frans Moormans. The price achieved of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,682.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The toast is the most expensive artwork by Frans Moormans that we have observed at auctions so far.
