The work Portrait of a lady by Franz Joseph Noortwyck was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction at Sothebys in London in December 2020. It achieved a price of GBP 2,394.00 (€ 2,674.31), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Franz Joseph Noortwyck; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Maria Amalia Of Saxony, Duchess Of The Palatine-Zweibrücken (1757-1831) sold at auction in December 2019 with the realized price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,136.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady von Franz Joseph Noortwyck wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.394,00 (€ 2.674,31) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Franz Joseph Noortwyck; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait Of Maria Amalia Of Saxony, Duchess Of The Palatine-Zweibrücken (1757-1831) im Dezember 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.136,59).
