Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A winter landscape at sunset; and Portrait of a young girl by Franz Horst was sold in the AT HOME - BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction at Christies in London in July 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 227.05 (€ 343.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Franz Horst have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2006 the work Reading in the shade, a snow capped mountain beyond was auctioned for GBP 360.00 (€ 534.29).
