Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Jerome by Franz Christoph Janneck was sold in the Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle auction at Sothebys in Paris in June 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,375.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Christoph Janneck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A musical banquet in a palace; and Elegant figures dancing and merrymaking in a palace in June 2015 with an auction result of USD 245,000.00 (€ 219,652.14).

Die Arbeit Saint Jerome von Franz Christoph Janneck wurde im Juni 2017 in der Auktion Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.375,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
