Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Het Westerdok in de sneeuw by Frans Koppelaar was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,250.00. Admittedly, works by Frans Koppelaar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Besneeuwde Torensluisbrug in October 2003 with an auction result of EUR 10,755.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Het Westerdok in de sneeuw von Frans Koppelaar im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.250,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frans Koppelaar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Besneeuwde Torensluisbrug im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.755,00.
