In May 2014 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters, 19th Century and Impressionist Art, which included the work The Adoration of the Magi by Frans Francken I. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,500.00 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Frans Francken I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Wedding Feast At Cana in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,597.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2014 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters, 19th Century and Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Adoration of the Magi von Frans Francken I zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.500,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frans Francken I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Wedding Feast At Cana im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 56.597,00).
