Auction result well in line with expectations

In October last year Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture Online, which included the work A winter landscape with figures by a frozen river in a village by Frans de Momper. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,760.00 (€ 32,977.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans de Momper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A frozen winter landscape with skaters, which sold at auction in April 2007 for GBP 84,000.00 (€ 122,986.82).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit A winter landscape with figures by a frozen river in a village von Frans de Momper zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.760,00 (€ 32.977,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Frans de Momper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A frozen winter landscape with skaters beobachtet, die im April 2007 für GBP 84.000,00 (€ 122.986,82) versteigert wurde.
