Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frank Weitzel could be acquired at Christies in Sydney in August 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Island Legend changed hands for AUD 1,792.50 (€ 1,040.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Weitzel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Abstract Design No. 1, which sold at auction in August 2004 for AUD 5,377.50 (€ 3,121.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Weitzel konnte im August 2004 bei Christies in Sydney für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS wechselte die Arbeit Island Legend für AUD 1.792,50 (€ 1.040,37) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank Weitzel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Abstract Design No. 1 beobachtet, die im August 2004 für AUD 5.377,50 (€ 3.121,10) versteigert wurde.
