Upper estimate price exceeded by 40 %.
The work A fashionable lady seen from behind; and A fashionable lady holding a fan by François-Louis-Joseph Watteau was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Christies in New York in January 2007. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,462.53), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François-Louis-Joseph Watteau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Bal De Tivolifrançois Watteau, Called Watteau De Lille ; Bal In The Tivoli Garden, Paris ; Signed And Dated Lower Middle ; Oil On Non-Craddle Panel ; Bears Several Labels On The Reverse in June 2013 with an auction result of EUR 265,500.00.

Die Arbeit A fashionable lady seen from behind; and A fashionable lady holding a fan von François-Louis-Joseph Watteau wurde im Januar 2007 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Christies in New York versteigert.
