This artwork by François Rude achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2020. In the Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz auction, the work Study For La Marseillaise sold for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,713.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by François Rude; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait D'Auguste Mugnier sold at auction in November 2008 with the realized price of EUR 17,851.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von François Rude erzielte im Mai 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz wurde die Arbeit Study For La Marseillaise für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.713,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von François Rude; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait D'Auguste Mugnier im November 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 17.851,00.
