Peint en 1975, cette œuvre porte le numéro trois d'une série de dix exemplaires. signed, titled, dated and numbered '''10 lignes au hasard'' no 75090 no 3 (10 exemplaires) Morellet 1975' (on the stretcher) acrylic on canvas 23 7 ⁄ 8 x 23 7 ⁄ 8 in. Painted in 1975, this work is number three from an edition of ten.
Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Christies in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art – online sale including ‘’A Lifetime Collection’’, which included the work 10 lignes au hasard by François Morellet. It changed hands for a price of EUR 18,900.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Morellet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French 2 Trames De Tirets 0° 90° in March 2010 with an auction result of EUR 432,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Art – online sale including ‘’A Lifetime Collection’’ durch, in der auch die Arbeit 10 lignes au hasard von François Morellet zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 18.900,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François Morellet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit French 2 Trames De Tirets 0° 90° im März 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 432.750,00.
