Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, bust-length, wearing a fur stole and blue bonnet by François Maurice Lard was sold in the NINETEENTH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction at Christies in London in March 2002. The price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,344.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Maurice Lard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contemplation in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 50,400.00 (€ 39,458.23).
