In May 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting, which included the work The Arch Of A Bridge With A Man Netting Fish By A Sluice Gate by François Louis Thomas Francia. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,918.95), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by François Louis Thomas Francia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chasse-marée (fishing luggers) making sail, off Calais in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,811.95).

Im Mai 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Arch Of A Bridge With A Man Netting Fish By A Sluice Gate von François Louis Thomas Francia zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.918,95) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von François Louis Thomas Francia auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chasse-marée (fishing luggers) making sail, off Calais im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.365,00 (€ 12.811,95).
