It achieved a price of USD 109,000.00 (€ 73,445.19), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 36%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Lemoyne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Adam Et Eve in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 1,296,750.00.

Die Arbeit The Bather von François Lemoyne wurde im Januar 2008 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 109.000,00 (€ 73.445,19) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 36%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François Lemoyne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Adam Et Eve im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.296.750,00.
