The work Recto: Head Of A Girl, Turned In Profile To The Right; Verso: Half-Length Study Of A Nude Girl, Seen From Behind And Turned To The Left by François Lemoyne was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2007. The auction ended at the price of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,367.08), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Lemoyne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Adam Et Eve in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 1,296,750.00.

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.367,08) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François Lemoyne erzielen.
