Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by François-Joseph Navez achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2020. In the European Art Part II auction, the work Deux Italiennes sold for USD 125,000.00 (€ 107,323.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by François-Joseph Navez; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Jeunes Filles À La Fontaine Donnant À Boire À Des Voyageurs, Costumes Des Environs De Fundi sold at auction in November 2017 with the realized price of USD 137,500.00 (€ 115,565.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
