Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by François Etienne Musin could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime Art auction, the work Warships and other shipping in a thunderstorm changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,114.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Etienne Musin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Belgian hms Resolute In Search Of Sir John Franklin in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 100,000.00 (€ 111,408.87).
