Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The castaway's salvation; and Salvaging the wreckage by François Etienne Musin was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2012. The price achieved of EUR 5,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François Etienne Musin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Belgian hms Resolute In Search Of Sir John Franklin in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 100,000.00 (€ 111,408.87).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François Etienne Musin erzielen.
