Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Three Figures Seen From Below, Possibly A Design For A Ceiling by François-André Vincent was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,587.60). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François-André Vincent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zeuxis Choosing His Models For The Image Of Helen From Among The Girls Of Croton in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 734,400.00 (€ 543,195.27).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zeuxis Choosing His Models For The Image Of Helen From Among The Girls Of Croton im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 734.400,00 (€ 543.195,27).
