This artwork by François-André Vincent achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2015. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Satyr Brandishing A Hunting Spear sold for USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,894.60) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by François-André Vincent have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Zeuxis Choosing His Models For The Image Of Helen From Among The Girls Of Croton in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 734,400.00 (€ 543,195.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von François-André Vincent erzielte im Januar 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Satyr Brandishing A Hunting Spear für USD 68.750,00 (€ 60.894,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von François-André Vincent auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Zeuxis Choosing His Models For The Image Of Helen From Among The Girls Of Croton im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 734.400,00 (€ 543.195,27).
