Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mucius Scaevola Before King Porsena by François-André Vincent was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2009. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 39,050.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François-André Vincent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zeuxis Choosing His Models For The Image Of Helen From Among The Girls Of Croton in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 734,400.00 (€ 543,195.27).

Die Arbeit Mucius Scaevola Before King Porsena von François-André Vincent wurde im Januar 2009 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 39.050,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
