Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Caricature Of A Draftsman At Work by François-André Vincent for USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,821.70). This price was achieved in the auction Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François-André Vincent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zeuxis Choosing His Models For The Image Of Helen From Among The Girls Of Croton in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 734,400.00 (€ 543,195.27).
