Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Three Plates from: Los Caprichos (Plates 16, 7 & 14) by Francisco de Goya was sold in the Old Master Prints auction at Christies in London in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,876.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francisco de Goya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Doña María Vicenta Barruso Valdés, seated on a sofa with a lap-dog; and Portrait of her mother Doña Leonora Antonia Valdés de Barruso, seated on a chair holding a fan in January this year with an auction result of USD 16,420,000.00 (€ 15,122,490.33).

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Doña María Vicenta Barruso Valdés, seated on a sofa with a lap-dog; and Portrait of her mother Doña Leonora Antonia Valdés de Barruso, seated on a chair holding a fan im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.420.000,00 (€ 15.122.490,33).
