Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Notre Dame, Poitiers by Francis Philip Barraud. The price achieved of GBP 470.00 (€ 743.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Philip Barraud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Britishsir Joshua Reynolds' Studio: A Visit From Dr. Johnson in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,098.56).
