Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART, which included the work Morning Light by Francis Dodd. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,116.25 (€ 1,581.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Dodd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Virginia Woolf in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,505.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Morning Light von Francis Dodd zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.116,25 (€ 1.581,02) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Dodd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Virginia Woolf im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.505,05).
