Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Muirhead Bone At His Desk by Francis Dodd was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,081.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Francis Dodd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Virginia Woolf in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,505.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Muirhead Bone At His Desk von Francis Dodd kam im Dezember 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 763,75 (€ 1.081,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Dodd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Virginia Woolf im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.505,05).
