Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Study Of A Human Body After Ingres (S. 19) by Francis Bacon. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,421.98). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bacon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Studies Of Lucian Freud in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 142,405,000.00 (€ 104,663,383.80).
