Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Before the prophet) by Francis Alÿs was sold in the 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November last year. The price achieved of EUR 12,600.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Alÿs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study For The Last Clown in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,377.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Before the prophet) von Francis Alÿs wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 12.600,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Alÿs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study For The Last Clown im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 288.000,00 (€ 427.377,51).
