Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam, which included the work Untitled (2 Hände mit Bürste) by Francis Alÿs. The price achieved of EUR 10,080.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Alÿs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study For The Last Clown in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,377.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (2 Hände mit Bürste) von Francis Alÿs zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 10.080,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Alÿs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study For The Last Clown im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 288.000,00 (€ 427.377,51).
