Upper estimate price exceeded by 26 %.
In December last year Christies in Paris held the auction Art contemporain, which included the work Baqe by Francis Alÿs. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 69,300.00 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Francis Alÿs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study For The Last Clown in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,377.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Art contemporain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Baqe von Francis Alÿs zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 69.300,00 und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Alÿs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study For The Last Clown im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 288.000,00 (€ 427.377,51).
