Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Francesco Scavullo could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Francesco Scavullo: No End to Beauty auction, the work Anthony Hopkins changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 236.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Scavullo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Janis Joplin, 1969 in May 2016 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 21,204.54).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francesco Scavullo konnte im November 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Francesco Scavullo: No End to Beauty wechselte die Arbeit Anthony Hopkins für USD 250,00 (€ 236,70) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Scavullo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Janis Joplin, 1969 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 21.204,54).
