In May 2011 Christies in Milan held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work La nascita di Bacco by Francesco Podesti. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 16,900.00 41% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Podesti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ritratto di gentildonna, which sold at auction in November 2008 for EUR 46,160.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in Mailand die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit La nascita di Bacco von Francesco Podesti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 16.900,00 und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco Podesti mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ritratto di gentildonna beobachtet, die im November 2008 für EUR 46.160,00 versteigert wurde.
