Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Jérôme by Francesco Maggiotto was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century Paintings and Drawings, Sculptures auction at Artcurial in March 2014. The price achieved of EUR 13,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Maggiotto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cena all'aperto Baruffa di contadine, which sold at auction in May 2001 for ITL 41,650,000.00 (€ 39,408.63).

Die Arbeit Saint Jérôme von Francesco Maggiotto wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Paintings and Drawings, Sculptures bei Artcurial versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 13.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco Maggiotto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cena all'aperto Baruffa di contadine beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für ITL 41.650.000,00 (€ 39.408,63) versteigert wurde.
