Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures, which included the work Portraits of Doge Tommaso Mocenigo; Doge Nicola da Ponte; Dogesse Clara Delphinia Cornelia; and Dogesse Laurentana Marcella Mocenica by Francesco Maggiotto. The price achieved of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,693.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Maggiotto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cena all'aperto Baruffa di contadine, which sold at auction in May 2001 for ITL 41,650,000.00 (€ 39,408.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portraits of Doge Tommaso Mocenigo; Doge Nicola da Ponte; Dogesse Clara Delphinia Cornelia; and Dogesse Laurentana Marcella Mocenica von Francesco Maggiotto zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.693,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco Maggiotto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cena all'aperto Baruffa di contadine beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für ITL 41.650.000,00 (€ 39.408,63) versteigert wurde.
