In April 2004 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including Barbizon, Realist and, which included the work The Tambourine Player by Francesco de Maria. The price achieved of USD 23,900.00 (€ 12,101.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Tambourine Player is the most expensive artwork by Francesco de Maria that we have observed at auctions so far.
