Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work A Capriccio View Of A Mediterranean Harbour; A Capriccio View Of A Grassy Piazza With A Series Of Imaginary Temples, A Mother And Daughter In The Foreground; A Capriccio View Of A Piazza With A Curved Colonnade To The Right And A Six Columned Church To Th by Francesco Battaglioli. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,714.25), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Battaglioli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A capriccio of a neoclassical loggia on the embankment of a canal, the buildings of a town and a mountainous landscape beyond, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 67,250.00 (€ 85,441.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Capriccio View Of A Mediterranean Harbour; A Capriccio View Of A Grassy Piazza With A Series Of Imaginary Temples, A Mother And Daughter In The Foreground; A Capriccio View Of A Piazza With A Curved Colonnade To The Right And A Six Columned Church To Th von Francesco Battaglioli zur Versteigerung kam.
